Do I need a permit for a deck in Calgary?
Generally yes, if the deck is more than 0.6 m (2 ft) off the ground. The City of Calgary sets out the rules on its deck permit page. We draw the permit drawings and handle the application for you. For pergolas and fences, we check your design and apply for a permit where one is required.
Should I choose composite or wood decking?
Both can be great options; it comes down to budget and maintenance. Pressure-treated wood costs less to build but needs regular staining. Composite costs more up front but needs less upkeep. We’ll price both so you can compare.
Can you repair my deck, or does it need replacing?
We check the framing and the ledger first, then tell you straight. If the structure is sound, repairs or refinishing may be all you need. If the framing or ledger is failing, replacing the deck is the safer call.
How do I choose a deck company in Calgary?
